Washington - The main Gloucester post office in the Courthouse area would be named for the late Rep. Jo Ann Davis, under a bill introduced Wednesday by her successor.

Rep. Robert Wittman, R-Westmoreland, introduced a measure to honor Davis, who died of breast cancer last fall. Davis, Virginia's first female Republican member of Congress, had represented Virginia's 1st District since 2001.

"Jo Ann worked tirelessly for America's 1st District, the commonwealth, and the nation," Wittman said in a statement.
